What are tax invoices?

Tax invoices are invoices that VAT-registered businesses send to their customers showing the details of a taxable supply and its VAT amount. The receipt of a tax invoice is proof that supports the tax-registered customer's claim for recoverable input tax.

What should tax invoices include?

  1. A unique sequential number.
  2. The supplier's name, address, and Tax Registration Number (TRN).
  3. The customer's name, address, and Tax Registration Number (TRN).
  4. The date of issue.
  5. The description of the goods or services supplied.
  6. The price and quantity of each item.
  7. The rate of discount per item.
  8. The rate of VAT charged per item.
  9. The total amount excluding VAT.
  10. The VAT amount chargeable.
  11. The total amount including VAT.

Tax invoices in Wafeq

Create tax invoices by going to Invoices in the left side menu and clicking the + button on the top right corner. The issued invoices will include all the details required by the Authority.
