Summary Export for Invoices and Bills to Excel

Raja Naseem Ilyas

I would like to request a new export option for both Invoices and Bills.

Current Behavior

When exporting invoices or bills to Excel, each line item is exported as a separate row. For example, if an invoice contains four line items, the exported file contains four rows for the same invoice.

While this detailed export is useful in some cases, it makes reporting, reconciliation, pivot tables, and analysis more difficult because invoice-level information is duplicated across multiple rows.

Requested Feature

Please add an additional export option called Summary Export (or One Row per Invoice/Bill).

The summary export should include one row for each invoice or bill, similar to how the records are displayed in Wafeq.

Suggested columns include:

  • Invoice/Bill Number
  • Date
  • Due Date
  • Customer/Supplier
  • Reference
  • Status
  • Currency
  • Subtotal
  • VAT Amount
  • Total Amount
  • Amount Paid
  • Balance Due

The existing detailed export should remain available, so users can choose between:

  • Detailed Export (one row per line item)
  • Summary Export (one row per invoice or bill)

I would also like to highlight the practical difficulty this creates for users.

I have been trying since this morning to prepare a proper report using Excel Pivot Tables, but it has become very difficult and time-consuming because the exported data is at line-item level rather than invoice level. A simple invoice summary report requires additional manual work, restructuring, and adjustments before it can be used.

Having a built-in Summary Export option (one row per invoice/bill) would save significant time and reduce the need for users to manipulate exported data manually.

This would be a very valuable improvement for accounting, reporting, and reconciliation purposes.
