Wafeq & SiFi Integration

The Wafeq-SiFi integration allows you to connect your Wafeq account with SiFi, a platform for managing company expenses and corporate cards, and easily sync accounts and transaction data between the two platforms.

Instead of manually entering and reconciling card expenses, you can sync categorized transactions from SiFi to Wafeq as journal entries, along with their supporting documents. This helps reduce manual data entry, simplify expense review, and streamline the reconciliation and month-end closing process.

Before You Begin

Before connecting Wafeq with SiFi, make sure that:

  • You have a Wafeq Administrator account.
  • We recommend creating a dedicated Wafeq user for the integration and assigning the Administrator role to this user. This makes it easier to identify transactions synced from SiFi.
  • You can use your own Wafeq admin account instead of creating a dedicated integration user, although this is not recommended.
  • Your Wafeq Chart of Accounts is up to date.

How to Connect Wafeq with SiFi

Step 1: Log in to Wafeq

Log in to your Wafeq account using your admin account or the dedicated integration user.

Step 2: Start the Integration from Wafeq

From the main menu in Wafeq:

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Select Integrations.

  3.  Select SiFi.

You will be redirected to SiFi to complete the integration process.

Once the connection is established, go back to your SiFi tab to continue setting up the integration.

Note: You can find the organization name in the top-left corner of your Wafeq workspace. If you only have one organization, it will be selected automatically.

Step 4: Select Attributes to Sync

Once connected, you can choose which attributes you want to sync from Wafeq to SiFi.

The available options are:

  • Accounts: Mandatory and required for the integration to work.
  • Contacts (Vendors): Optional. Select this if you track and use vendor information in SiFi.
  • Cost Centers: Optional.
  • Projects: Optional.
  • Locations: Optional.

Select the attributes that apply to your organization and that you actively use in your workflow, then click Continue.

The sync may take some time depending on the size of your Chart of Accounts and the data you selected.

Step 5: Review Your Configuration

Once the sync is complete, you will be taken to the Integration Configuration page in SiFi.

Click Accounting Fields to review the attributes synced from Wafeq.

Next, set your Source Account. This is the bank account in Wafeq that is linked to your SiFi wallet. Select the Wafeq bank account that you want to use to classify and record transactions processed through SiFi.

You can also enable Auto Sync to automatically refresh your data daily without requiring any manual action.

Once you complete the configuration, the integration is ready to use.

Step 6: Explore the Accounting Menu

From the SiFi sidebar, go to Accounting.

You will find your transactions organized into the following sections:

  • Expenses: Contains your card expenses.
  • Transfers: Includes transfers and reimbursements.
  • Others: Covers cash-in and cash-out transactions.
  • Filters: Use the standard filter options to focus on the transactions you want to review.

Step 7: Verify Transactions

Before syncing transactions to Wafeq, you need to assign at least one account to each transaction.

The account you assign depends on the transaction direction:

  • For debit transactions, assign the debit account.
  • For credit transactions, assign the credit account.
  • The opposite side is automatically set to the Source Account configured earlier.

You can also use the bulk action option to assign accounts to multiple transactions at once.

For example, you can filter transactions by a specific budget, such as Budget = "Marketing Campaign 2025", and bulk assign all these transactions to the Wafeq account Marketing Expenses.

After assigning the accounts and reviewing the transaction details, complete the verification process. All verified transactions will be moved to the Verified tab for easy tracking.

Step 8: Sync Transactions

Once you have finished reviewing and verifying your transactions, you can sync them to Wafeq in bulk.

Transactions are synced as either Expense or Manual journal entries (Draft), and journal entries will be created in Wafeq with a Draft status.

After syncing:

  • Each transaction will create one corresponding entry in Wafeq.
  • Journal entries will remain in Draft status until they are reviewed and Posted in Wafeq.
  • All transaction details and supporting documents will be added to Wafeq automatically.
  • Transactions will be recorded under the configured Source Account and the GL account assigned to each transaction.

This allows you to review and Post your SiFi transactions in Wafeq without exporting data or entering it manually.

User Permissions

The required permissions vary depending on the integration stage:

  • In SiFi, users with the Admin or Finance Manager role can sync configuration data such as Accounts and Contacts.
  • Users with the Admin, Finance Manager, or Accountant role can access the Accounting section, review transactions, and sync them to Wafeq.
