Update Tax Details & Set Up E-Invoicing in the UAE

Wafeq’s organization settings and contact records allow you to manage identification details and tax registrations, verify the required information, and complete the steps needed to support e-invoicing requirements in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

How to Access Tax Settings

To access the tax settings, go to Settings from the main menu, select Organization Settings, and click Edit.

1. Identify Your Organization

You can identify your organization in the UAE using one of the following identification document types:

  • Trade License
  • Emirates ID
  • Passport Number
  • Cabinet Decision

Select the appropriate identification document type for your organization, then enter the corresponding number. This allows you to register your organization details using the relevant identification document, including for natural persons subject to e-invoicing requirements who do not hold a trade license.

2. Manage Tax Registrations

You can manage and verify your organization’s tax registrations using the Tax Registration Number (TRN), specifying the type of each registration separately, such as Value Added Tax (VAT) or Corporate Tax.

  • Search for Tax Registrations

To verify tax registrations, enter the Tax Registration Number (TRN) to validate it with the Federal Tax Authority (FTA). If registrations associated with the number are found, Wafeq imports the available registrations.

You can add one or multiple tax registrations and specify the relevant tax type for each registration. Make sure to enter the VAT registration number in the designated VAT field and select the correct registration type for Corporate Tax.

  • Verify Tax Registrations

A green checkmark appears next to verified registrations, along with the date of the latest verification. You can reverify a registration whenever needed.

Wafeq also automatically populates the Tax Identification Number (TIN) when available. This number is required for e-invoicing purposes.

  • Review Your Organization’s Tax Status

The tax settings page displays your organization’s VAT registration status using one of the following indicators:

  1. Confirmed by the FTA (VAT): The organization is registered for VAT.
  2. Not Confirmed by the FTA (VAT): The organization is not registered for VAT.

The page also displays tax identification information and VAT return details, helping you review your organization’s tax information.

Set Up E-Invoicing

To start setting up e-invoicing, go to Settings from the main menu and select Organization Settings. Look for "FTA e-invoicing", then click "Connect".
