Common Errors and Troubleshooting

Solutions to common issues when connecting to Wafeq or sending e-invoices.

Verification fails even though my TIN and email are correct.

Make sure you use the email of the admin of your EmaraTax account, not another user’s email. Check that the TIN is the first 10 digits of your TRN, then try again; each attempt starts fresh. Temporary connection issues with the FTA can also cause a failure, so retrying later often works.

The invoice shows a validation error, such as a missing emirate or city.

Edit the customer and complete the missing address details, such as the emirate and city for UAE customers. Then save the invoice again so it is revalidated.

I can’t find "Connect a taxpayer" in the ASP portal.

In Live, you need an active subscription with a free taxpayer seat. Go to Billing & pricing to subscribe or add seats.

The connection link doesn’t work.

Each link works once and expires after 7 days. If you entered an Expected TIN, only that business can use it. Create a new link.

My business is linked to Wafeq in EmaraTax but doesn’t appear in my organization.

The business may have selected Wafeq in EmaraTax without opening your connection link, so it hasn’t approved your organization’s access. Send a new connection link and ask the business to click Sign in to connect. If the problem continues, contact support.

An imported invoice shows "Invalid draft" with a customer.id error.

The customer_id column must contain the customer’s Peppol ID in the format 0235: followed by their TIN, or be left blank if the customer has no TIN. Fix the file, discard the drafts, and import it again.

An imported invoice shows "Recipient not found".

The customer isn’t registered on the Peppol network, so the invoice can’t be delivered yet. Check the customer’s identifier, or retry after the customer registers.

The import page shows a row error before uploading.

Your browser checks the file before uploading it and names the row to fix, for example a missing due_date. Correct the row in Excel and choose the file again.
