Wafeq E-Invoicing Options: Wafeq Accounting or the ASP Portal

Answers to common questions about choosing between Wafeq Accounting and the Wafeq e-invoicing ASP portal.

What e-invoicing options does Wafeq offer?

  • Wafeq Accounting: e-invoicing is built in. You connect once, and your invoices are reported to the FTA and delivered over Peppol from Wafeq.
  • Wafeq e-invoicing ASP portal: a standalone product for businesses that keep their current accounting software or ERP. You send e-invoices through the API or by importing Excel files.

Which option is right for me?

If you are willing to issue your invoices from Wafeq, Wafeq Accounting is the simplest option: everything is included and no implementation is needed. If you want to keep your current system (for example, SAP, Oracle or a custom ERP), use the ASP portal. Connecting your own system through the API requires a developer or an implementation partner.

I use Wafeq Accounting. Do I need the ASP portal?

No. You don’t need the portal to send e-invoices. You can optionally sign in to the portal as a taxpayer to view your e-invoices and the apps connected to your business.

Can a business use another invoicing software and still be connected to Wafeq?

Yes. A business can connect its software to Wafeq once through the API, and then every invoice is sent to Wafeq automatically. Wafeq delivers it to the buyer over Peppol and reports it to the FTA. The portal is used to track statuses.
