We continue to enhance our platform to help businesses manage their financial operations with greater efficiency and ease. As part of our ongoing commitment, we have introduced a series of improvements and updates aimed at streamlining financial workflows, strengthening tax compliance, and improving overall system performance.
Among these updates, we have launched ZATCA Invoice QR Scan by Wafeq, a dedicated application designed to scan invoice QR codes, enabling users to quickly and accurately verify the validity of tax invoices.
Importance of the Application
The ZATCA Invoice QR Scan by Wafeq app serves as a key solution for both businesses and individuals in handling tax invoices with confidence and transparency. Its importance includes:
- Enhanced tax compliance: Ensures invoices align with the requirements of the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA), reducing the risk of tax-related discrepancies.
- Time and effort efficiency: Enables instant invoice verification without the need for manual checks or complex procedures.
- Greater transparency: Provides clear visibility into invoice authenticity and the vendor’s tax status.
- Simplified invoice management: Allows users to store scanned invoices and access them at any time.

ZATCA Compliance Verification
The application checks the taxpayer’s VAT registration status at the time of scanning. If the supplier is found to be de-registered from VAT, the invoice will be flagged as "not compliant", indicating that the supplier is not currently VAT registered.
It is important to note that this does not invalidate the invoice itself. Rather, it reflects the supplier’s VAT registration status at the time of verification, ensuring that the buyer is aware of the seller’s tax standing at that moment.
