Support for Contact Custom Fields in the Advanced Template Designer

You can now display Contact Custom Fields automatically on invoices using the Advanced Template Designer.

This feature allows you to enter fixed information for a customer or supplier once and have it automatically displayed on the documents associated with that contact, eliminating the need to re-enter the same information each time.

Adding and Enabling Custom Fields

Adding a Custom Field

  • First, add the Custom Field you want to display on the invoice.
  • From the invoice, click Edit Fields.
  • Then, click Add Custom Field, enter the field name, select its type, and enable Contact to make the field available for contacts.

Note: At this step, only add the field. Do not enable the Show Field option.

Adding the Field to the Invoice Template

  • From the Preview page, select the document you want to customize, then click Customize to make changes to the template.
  • Make sure you are using the Advanced Template Designer, then add the Custom Field you created earlier to the template.
  • Once you have finished making the changes, click Save.

Adding the Field Information to the Contact

  • Next, return to the invoice and click Customer Information.
  • Enter the customer's fixed information in the Custom Field you created.
  • Once saved, this information will automatically appear on invoices associated with that customer, so you will not need to enter it again for every new invoice.
  • This allows you to enter contact information once and reuse it automatically across your documents, saving time and reducing manual data entry.
