Appointing Wafeq as Your ASP and Connecting Your Business

Answers to common questions about appointing Wafeq in EmaraTax and connecting your business. For step-by-step instructions, refer to How to select Wafeq as your ASP from the FTA/EmaraTax portal and Wafeq E-Invoicing ASP Portal: Getting Started and Connecting Businesses (UAE).

How do I appoint Wafeq as my ASP?

In EmaraTax, open E-Invoicing, select Wafeq FZ LLC from the list of accredited service providers and click Proceed to ASP. You are then taken to Wafeq to verify your business and complete the connection. If you use Wafeq Accounting, start from Settings > Organization settings > FTA e-invoicing > Connect.

What information do I need to connect?

  • Your Tax Identification Number (TIN). If you are registered for any tax type, it is the first 10 digits of your TRN.
  • Your TRN, if you are VAT registered.
  • The email of the admin of your EmaraTax account.
  • Your business address.
  • Your commercial registration: trade license, Emirates ID, passport or Cabinet decision.

My business isn’t VAT registered. Can I still connect?

Yes. E-invoicing isn’t limited to VAT-registered businesses. Connect using your TIN. Every business in the UAE receives a TIN when it registers for Corporate Tax.

I’m an accountant and don’t have access to my client’s EmaraTax account. What can I do?

Send your client a connection link so the business owner, who has EmaraTax access, completes the EmaraTax step. In the ASP portal, create the link from Taxpayers > Connect a taxpayer. The link works once and expires after 7 days.

Are non-resident businesses supported?

Yes. Non-resident taxpayers that fall under the UAE e-invoicing mandate are supported in both Wafeq Accounting and the ASP portal. Their Peppol ID comes from their UAE TRN.

How do I change my ASP or stop using Wafeq?

Offboarding always starts in EmaraTax. Go to E-Invoicing > Linkage status, choose Offboarding next to Wafeq FZ LLC, and complete the steps on the Wafeq page that opens. It can’t be started from Wafeq. Your documents remain available after offboarding.
